Electrical Safety

Recent changes to the “Electrical Wiring Regulations (AS/NZS3000)” and the “Electrical Safety Regulations” were implemented to help make New Zealand homes electrically safe.

The responsibility for the Electrical safety of an installation lies with the Electrical Worker employed to do the work.  The Electrical Worker must now certify that ALL of his/her work is safe. This was not the case in the past. Therefore, there is no guarantee that all work was done to a safe standard.

A Registered Electrician (with a current Practicing Licence)  must now provide you with a “Compliance and Electrical Safety Certificate” for ALL electrical work.

Choose your Electrical Worker carefully! Failure to comply with the Electrical Regulations could affect your House insurance.
